Thiru. CA N. V. Natarajan,

Chairman & Managing Trustee.

Thiru CA N. V. Natarajan, the Founder and Chairman of Paavai Institutions, hails from Rasipuram in Namakkal District, Tamil Nadu. Born to Thiru Varadappa Gounder, a civil engineering contractor and sago factory owner, and Thirumathi Paavaiammal, he grew up in an environment that valued hard work, discipline, and responsibility. These values have shaped his approach to business, leadership, and education.

Although he showed a strong aptitude for mathematics during his school years, he developed an interest in commerce and pursued his studies at Jamal Mohamed College in Tiruchirappalli, followed by a B.Com degree at Kandaswami Kandar’s College (KKC). During his college years, he had a vision to establish an educational institution and even sketched a proposed college campus on the wrapper of his Mercantile Law assignment. He later qualified as a Chartered Accountant while continuing to manage family business responsibilities.

His entrepreneurial journey began in 1986 with the establishment of the Varadappa Educational Society in memory of his father. The society focused on training and developmental activities for schools in the surrounding region. In 1988, he ventured into chemical industry, responding to the demand for quality industrial and residential products. His interest in education and technology grew further in 1994 with the introduction of APTECH in Rasipuram. This was followed by initiatives including an APTECH Centre in Dharmapuri, Paavai Foundations Private Limited in Salem for software training, and Paavai Exports.

A defining milestone came on 13 October 1997, when he founded Pavai Varam Educational Trust (PVET) in honour of his parents. In 1998, the Trust established Paavai Women’s Polytechnic College, in Rasipuram turning his long-held vision into reality. As our chairman has envisioned, our trust received strong support from our late Thiru R. Ramasamy Gounder’s family, a leading entrepreneur in the sago industry. With due support our campus was founded in Anaipalayam, Namakkal.

As Paavai Institutions grew, its leadership team expanded to include Thiru T. R. Manisekaran as Vice-Chairman, Thiru T. R. Palanivel as Secretary, Thirumathi Mangaiarkarasi Natarajan as Correspondent, Thiru Dr. M. Ramakrishnan as Treasurer, and Thiru N. Palanivel as Joint Secretary, along with Thiru K. Senthil as Director of Admissions.

Under Thiru CA N. V. Natarajan’s leadership, Paavai Institutions has grown from its first polytechnic college into a multi-disciplinary educational group recognised across Tamil Nadu and beyond. His leadership emphasises discipline, culture, academic excellence, and integrity. He believes that teachers are the pillars of an institution, students are its most valued assets, and education must remain at the centre of every institutional decision.

By treating every member of the Paavai community as part of one extended family, Thiru CA N. V. Natarajan fosters a culture of belonging, discipline, and shared responsibility. Under his leadership, Paavai Institutions strives to nurture individuals with strong values, academic excellence, and leadership skills, preparing them to become responsible citizens and capable professionals who contribute to society and India’s technological and economic progress.

Thiru. T. R. Manisekaran,

Vice-chairman.

Thiru T. R. Manisekaran brings over five decades of experience in the sago manufacturing industry. His entrepreneurial journey began in the 1970s when he took charge as Managing Partner of R. Ramasamy Gounder Sons Sri Velmurugan Sago Factory (SVM). Established in 1962 by his father, the late Thiru R. Ramasamy Gounder, the factory laid the foundation for the family’s long-standing contribution to the regional sago industry.

During the late 1980s, Thiru T. R. Manisekaran, in partnership with his brother, Thiru T. R. Palanivel, and other associates, expanded their manufacturing operations by establishing and developing more than six additional sago factories. He also contributed to improving manufacturing practices by introducing technological advancements and sharing his technical knowledge with other manufacturers, supporting the wider development of the industry.

As a founding member of SAGO-SERVE (Salem Starch and Sago Manufacturers’ Service Industrial Co-operative Society Ltd.), he contributed to the development of an organised platform for sago manufacturers. Under Member No. M0100, the SVM factory reportedly supplied the largest quantity of sago to SAGO-SERVE each year from 1990 to 2005. In recognition of this contribution, Thiru T. R. Manisekaran received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the sago manufacturing community.

In 2019, he spearheaded a major modernisation of the original SVM factory, transforming it into SVM TAPIOCA. The facility produces tapioca starch and sago for food industry customers, with a focus on quality and modern manufacturing standards. This initiative marked an important step in the evolution of the family’s traditional manufacturing business to serve customers across India and international markets.

Alongside his industrial work, Thiru T. R. Manisekaran has been closely associated with Paavai Institutions since its inception in 1998. He has contributed to the development of campus infrastructure and supported initiatives such as tree plantation and rainwater harvesting. Through his financial support and cooperation with the management team, he has played a significant role in the institution’s growth and development.

His contributions reflect a sustained commitment to industrial development, educational growth, and the long-term progress of Paavai Institutions.

Thiru. T. R. Palanivel,

Secretary.

Thiru T. R. Palanivel has been associated with the sago manufacturing and trading industry since the 1970s. As Managing Director of Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Trading Company Private Limited (SLVT), Salem, he developed extensive experience in business management. Working alongside his brother, Thiru T. R. Manisekaran, Vice-Chairman of PVET, he co-developed the SVM Sago Factory. From the 1980s, Thiru T. R. Palanivel managed the finance and marketing functions of the family’s sago business. This handson experience helped him develop deep expertise in the sago and starch industry, where he played a significant role in introducing new technologies, improving manufacturing processes, and modernising the industry.

Building on this experience, he demonstrated successful business leadership by spearheading the family’s diversification from its traditional roots into a range of industries. He played a key role in establishing and growing businesses across garment manufacturing, tile distribution, pharmacy product distribution, liquid glucose manufacturing, granite mining, and auto ancillaries. His ability to lead this expansion, manage finances effectively, and mobilise the resources needed to establish and grow businesses across diverse sectors reflects his strong entrepreneurial and financial acumen.

The family’s success across diverse industries provided a strong foundation for its commitment to education. In 1998, Paavai Women’s Polytechnic College was established, marking an important step in the family’s contribution to regional development and women’s education. Thiru T. R. Palanivel, working alongside his father, the late Thiru R. Ramasamy Gounder, contributed to this educational journey and subsequently joined the Trust’s leadership to support the institution’s growth and development.

As Secretary of Pavai Varam Educational Trust, Thiru T. R. Palanivel has played a key role in the financial management and infrastructure development of Paavai Institutions since its early years. Drawing on his experience in managing and expanding businesses across diverse industries, he brought a practical and disciplined approach to institutional finance. His responsibilities have included managing finances, overseeing loans and advances, and planning the resources required for campus infrastructure and expansion. His financial stewardship and coordination with the management team have helped support the institution’s growth through sound planning and effective resource management.

Over the years, Thiru T. R. Palanivel has continued to provide financial guidance and work closely with the management team to advance the institution’s development. His journey from leading business diversification to contributing to educational growth reflects his ability to apply entrepreneurial experience and financial acumen to a larger institutional purpose. His sustained contribution has helped Paavai Institutions strengthen its foundations, expand its infrastructure, and pursue its educational mission.

Thiru. Dr. M. Ramakrishnan,

Treasurer.

Thiru Dr. M. Ramakrishnan, an accomplished paediatrician holding M.B.B.S. and D.C.H. qualifications, has dedicated his life to advancing healthcare, education, and community service in Rasipuram and its surrounding regions. Through his long-standing medical practice at MR Hospital on Theradi Street in Rasipuram Bazaar, he has played a pivotal role in making accessible, high-quality child healthcare available to local families, earning widespread trust and respect.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Ramakrishnan has been a vital force in regional educational development. Since 1982, he has served as an active Board Trustee—and currently as the Chairman Nominee—of the Rasipuram Vivekananda Educational Trust, which runs the Sri Vidhyamandir Matriculation and CBSE Schools. His vision as an education entrepreneur has significantly strengthened the foundational academic landscape of the area.

In 1998, Dr. Ramakrishnan expanded his educational leadership by joining the Pavai Varam Educational Trust as its Treasurer, collaborating closely with Chairman Thiru CA N. V. Natarajan and the management team. In this role, he provides essential financial oversight and strategic guidance, driving the growth and institutional development of Paavai Institutions across engineering, technology, management, pharmacy, nursing, allied health sciences, and school education.

As a mentor to the management of Paavai Institutions, Dr. Ramakrishnan bridges the gap between academic programming and real-world societal needs. His extensive medical and administrative experience has proven especially valuable in shaping and expanding the trust's healthcare-related academic programs, ensuring that students are well-prepared to serve the evolving healthcare sector.

Deeply committed to public welfare, Dr. Ramakrishnan is also an active Rotarian with the Rotary Club of Rasipuram (established in 1995), serving as its President during 2001–02. He consistently leverages his medical expertise to lead community health initiatives, organize free medical camps, and drive local outreach projects, leaving a lasting legacy of service across healthcare, education, and social development.

Thirumathi. Mangaiarkarasi Natarajan,

Correspondent.

Thirumathi. Mangaiarkarasi Natarajan has been an integral part of the Paavai journey since her marriage to Thiru CA N. V. Natarajan in 1987. Through her strength, clarity, compassion, and determination, she has stood alongside him through the growth and development of Paavai Institutions. Her practical wisdom, steadfast support, and commitment have played an important role in translating the institution’s vision into a lasting educational endeavour.

Inspired by her husband’s entrepreneurial spirit, Thirumathi. Mangaiarkarasi Natarajan built a distinguished career in the investment and insurance sector. Though her professional association with the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), she became one of its top 25 performers nationally. She later established herself as an investment consultant serving clients across the Salem and Namakkal districts. Her professional journey reflects discipline, financial expertise, and a commitment to guiding individuals and families responsibly.

When Paavai Women’s Polytechnic College was established in 1998, Thirumathi. Mangaiarkarasi Natarajan assumed the role of Correspondent. Since then, she has contributed to the institution’s administration, planning, and day-to-day functioning, supporting its organisational growth and continuity. Her understanding of finance, administration, and people management has complemented the vision and leadership of Thiru CA N. V. Natarajan, while her involvement in institutional decisions has supported Paavai’s continued development.

Affectionately regarded as the “formless form of Paavai,” Thirumathi. Mangaiarkarasi Natarajan represents the quiet yet significant force behind the institution’s everyday functioning. While many of her contributions take place away from the spotlight, her influence is reflected in the institution’s culture, values, and continued development. Her ability to balance professional responsibilities with her commitment to education demonstrates a deep sense of purpose and service.

Through her professional achievements, administrative leadership, and enduring support, Thirumathi. Mangaiarkarasi Natarajan continues to contribute to the growth of Paavai Institutions. Her journey reflects dedication, integrity, compassion, and responsibility— values that remain central to Paavai’s educational mission and its commitment to shaping future generations.

Since the inception of Paavai Institutions, Thiru CA N. V. Natarajan, Chairman, and Thirumathi. Mangaiarkarasi Natarajan, Correspondent, are both full-time working trustees of Pavai Varam Educational Trust and serve in executive capacities, receiving institutional provisions, substantial monthly salary in connection with their executive responsibilities and gets comfortable commensurate support with their respective roles.

Thiru. N. Palanivel,

Joint Secretary.

Thiru N. Palanivel hails from an agricultural family and holds a B.Sc. in Botany and an M.A. in Defence and Strategic Studies. He joined his family business in 1993 and was involved in sago manufacturing through Sri Venkateswara Sago Factory in Deevattipatti, Salem, and Sri Vigneswara Sago Products in Kappangadu, Namakkal, until 2005. He operated these businesses alongside his late father, Thiru K. Natesan. Through the wider family business network, including Thiru T. R. Manisekaran, Vice-Chairman of PVET, and Thiru T. R. Palanivel, Secretary of PVET, he also developed interests in financing and bus transport.

In 2005, Thiru N. Palanivel and his father established Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Sago Products in Oduvankurichi, Namakkal. Since 2014, he has expanded his business activities into bus and lorry transport and private financial consultancy. His experience across manufacturing, finance, and transport has given him practical business knowledge and a strong understanding of regional industry.

As one of the founding trustees of Paavai Institutions, Thiru N. Palanivel has contributed to its development from its early years. Alongside his late father, he supported the institution’s growth through business networks, financial referrals, and guidance during important phases of infrastructure development and expansion.

A key aspect of his contribution has been helping to mobilise the financial resources, business support, and other resources needed to expand Paavai Institutions and develop essential campus infrastructure. His business relationships and practical understanding of resource mobilisation have helped the Trust translate its development plans into reality.

As Joint Secretary of Pavai Varam Educational Trust, Thiru N. Palanivel continues to support the development of Paavai Institutions while carrying forward his family’s commitment to education and community development. His background in industry and business management, together with his longstanding association with the Trust, remains an important part of the institution’s journey.
